How do I unzip a template? |
Unzipping your template
All templates are downloaded as zip files. The first step to using the template is unzipping the entire web folder. Depending on the zip software you have, make sure that you are unzipping a folder and not just individual files.
In Windows XP without any zip software installed:
- Double-click the downloaded zip file.
- Choose File, Extract All.
- When the Compressed (zipped) Extraction Wizard appears, click Next.
- Click Browse. Locate and select a directory on your computer where you want the web folder placed, such as My Documents. Click OK, and then click Next.
- Click Finish. If you don’t clear the Show extracted files box, a new window appears showing your extracted web folder.
Using Winzip software:
- Double-click the downloaded zip file.
- If you are in classic mode, switch to the Wizard by clicking the Wizard toolbar button.
- When the Wizard appears, click Next.
- On the What do you want to do? screen, make sure Unzip or install from “template.zip” is selected.
- Click Next.
- Click Select different folder.
- Locate and select a directory on your computer where you want the web folder placed, such as My Documents. Click OK.
- Click Unzip Now.
- Click Finish.
After the folder is unzipped, you can rename the template folder to any name you want. For example, if the web folder was named General_51, you can rename it to MyCompany.
Note: If you try to move the content from the web folder that was extracted to a new folder make sure your hidden files are showing (Choose Tools, Folder Options, and then click the View tab in Windows Explorer).
